Booking Windows: How Far Ahead Can You Book?
Your booking window — the period during which you can make a reservation for a specific travel date — is one of the most important practical aspects of vacation ownership. Different membership tiers, room categories, and resorts have different windows, and understanding yours directly affects availability.
What a booking window is
A booking window is the period between when you can first make a reservation and the date of travel. A 12-month booking window means you can book exactly 12 months in advance. A 60-day booking window means you can only book two months before your stay. The longer your window, the better your access to high-demand inventory.
Tier-based booking advantages
Most APAC clubs offer earlier booking windows to owners with higher membership tiers or more annual points. Owners with larger allocations or premium memberships can typically book peak inventory before other members, which creates a practical advantage in availability.
Home resort vs other resorts
Many programmes give owners an extended booking window at their 'home' resort — the property they are primarily allocated to — before broader network inventory opens. If you own at a specific resort, check whether you have a home resort window and how long it is.
Waitlists and last-minute availability
When inventory is fully booked within the standard window, waitlists are common. Last-minute cancellations can open availability at short notice for specific dates. Some programmes have dedicated last-minute booking pools at reduced point costs. Check whether your club offers this.
