About Minor Vacation Club

Minor Vacation Club is the vacation ownership arm of Minor International PCL — a Thai-listed conglomerate trading on the Stock Exchange of Thailand under the ticker MINT. Founded and led by William Heinecke, Minor International is one of Thailand's largest and most diversified companies, with core businesses spanning hospitality, food and beverage, and lifestyle retail.

The hotel division — Minor Hotels — operates more than 560 properties across 56 countries under eight brands:

  • Anantara — the flagship luxury brand; the spiritual home of the vacation club
  • Avani — contemporary upscale hotels and resorts
  • NH Hotels & NH Collection — acquired in 2018, giving Minor a major footprint across Europe and the Americas
  • nhow — design-led lifestyle hotels
  • Oaks — serviced apartments, strong in Australia and New Zealand
  • Tivoli — Portuguese luxury brand
  • Elewana — boutique safari lodges and camps across East Africa

Beyond hotels, Minor International operates hundreds of restaurant outlets across Asia (including The Pizza Company, Swensen's, Sizzler, The Coffee Club, and Burger King Thailand franchises), plus a lifestyle division covering retail and contract manufacturing. MINT is genuinely a conglomerate — the vacation club sits within one arm of a much larger enterprise.

The vacation club was originally launched under the Anantara brand — hence the former name Anantara Vacation Club — and rebranded to Minor Vacation Club in May 2026 as part of aligning the programme under the parent group's umbrella. Your membership, your points, and your club rules are unchanged by the rebrand.

Members hold Club Points usable at any of the 12 Club Resorts across Thailand, Indonesia, the UAE, and New Zealand. Points don't expire while your membership is active.

Club Points — how vacation ownership works here

Minor Vacation Club uses a points-based model, which replaced the older fixed-week approach that most people associate with the word "timeshare."

Traditional timeshare gave you a deed to a specific unit at a specific resort for the same week every year — useful if you loved exactly that, but inflexible for everything else. Club Points work differently: you own a number of points and spend them each year to book stays across any Club Resort, in any room type, in any season. A smaller allocation might cover a studio in the quiet season; a larger one could get you a two-bedroom villa at peak. You can split your annual points across multiple trips, and in most cases save unspent points or borrow against the following year.

Points are now the dominant vacation ownership model in Asia-Pacific. The flexibility is real — but there is one honest trade-off: because points are denominated in an internal club currency, the points cost of bookings can be adjusted over time. An allocation that comfortably covers a week today may cover less in ten years, in the same way hotel rates rise.

Where Minor Vacation Club is heading

Minor Hotels continues to expand across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe — making it one of the faster-growing hotel groups in the region. For club members, that growth matters: new Minor Hotels properties can be added to the Club Resort portfolio over time, potentially giving members more destinations to choose from.

The rebrand from Anantara Vacation Club to Minor Vacation Club signals a broader ambition: rather than the club sitting under a single luxury hotel brand, it now sits under the parent group. This opens the door to eventually drawing inventory from across the wider Minor Hotels portfolio — not just Anantara properties.

For existing members, the most important near-term question is the annual levy. As the club grows and costs evolve, monitoring what your annual contribution buys you in real booking terms is worth doing each year.
